I WILL PRONOUNCE YOUR NAME

I will pronounce your name, Ajike
I will declaim it to the land kings and sky lords
That it is the fragrance of the roses of mother mary
Ajike, Your name is mild like fur coat

I will write of your name on every fallen dew
Cos your name tells a tale of an ancient goddess
Queen of itoga kingdom; Goddess of the osi river
Queen of the dry tornado, the hard clap of lightening beauty

When the forest blossoms forth under the midday sun
The wild beast will read of your name
Cos I made ridges with your names written boldly on it
To remind them that it is
An untreadable land belonging to a goddess

See the tired moon comes down in her full nakedness
And the savage wind lamed and awestrucken
When your name escapes the lips of every maiden

I have become a sorcerer for your sake
I have pronounce your name millions of times with the parrots
Taught every toddler how to read your names on books
And every bird in the sky how to sing of it

Cos you ajike,
you are the beauty on the crown of time
The clear oil lamp;
Where our ancestors gather around to talk at night

See,I know nothing now other than your name
Ajike, coin of gold; the shining coal
Name of sugared coating; scent of blooming flowers
You are my night; my sun
I'm your hero and I would kill for your love.
